Port of Rotterdam

The port of Rotterdam is the largest port in Europe. We manage, operate and develop the Rotterdam port and industrial area and are responsible for ensuring safe and expedient shipping services.

We are proud of our current port and are working hard with our partners to build the port of the future. Looking ahead, we aim to create an environmentally-friendly, inclusive and safe port.

circle ELMAN

Since 1975, ELMAN has been delivering advanced technological solutions for maritime safety, communication and coastal monitoring, supporting authorities and operators in complex and mission-critical environments.

With a strong focus on maritime activities, ELMAN designs, develops and integrates complete systems for Vessel Traffic Services (VTS), coastal surveillance and port management. Our solutions combine communication technologies, sensor integration and intelligent platforms to ensure safe navigation, efficient traffic control and protection of life at sea.

What makes ELMAN distinctive is its end-to-end engineering approach: all systems are fully designed and developed in-house, from hardware and firmware to software and system integration. This allows maximum reliability, flexibility and tailored solutions aligned with each customer’s operational needs.

circle ShoreTension

Since the inception of ShoreTension®, sustainability has been central. The system is designed to be self-sustaining in power and is considered a green solution for safe mooring: no external energy use and zero emissions.

ShoreTension is only activated when a vessel berths. During line payout it stores energy internally then uses this stored energy to heave in the line after peak loads. This allows smooth operation without external power keeping CO2 emissions at zero.

ShoreTension enables faster loading and unloading saving time and costs while improving efficiency. The system is stand-alone and requires no electrical input once pressurized. We are currently testing it toward full operational CO2 neutrality and complete energy self-sufficiency.

circle BollardScan

The BollardScan™ is a unique way to establish the integrity of the bollard and its foundation. And whether it still meets the design requirements of the structure. The methodology that was developed in-house is based on the transmission of vibration and sound through the structure allowing us to pinpoint any errors.

What does BollardScan offer:

• New, non-destructive technology
• Fully trained operators
• Informative and clear management reports
• Approved by Lloyd’s Register and
Vienna Consulting Engineers
• Major clients worldwide
